2-BROMO-6-FLUOROBENZOYL CHLORIDE Use and Manufacturing

General procedure: A mixture of various carboxylic acids (1.0mmol), an excess of thionyl chrolide (5mL) was refluxed for 2h and concentrated in vacuo to give corresponding acyl chloride (quant).General procedure: To a suspension of AlCl3 (2.5 eq.) in DCM (1mL/mmol AlCl3) at 0C was added the relevant acid chloride (2 eq.) followed by methyl 1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylate (1 eq.). The resulting mixture was allowed to reach RT and stirred for 16h. The reaction was quenched at 0C with a 1M aqueous solution of HCl (20mL). The product was extracted with DCM (3×100mL), washed with an aqueous saturated solution ofNaHCO3 (2×100mL) and brine (100mL). Combined organic layers were dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated in vacuo. was prepared before the synthesis of 5: 2-bromo-6-fluorobenzoic acid (2.83 g, 12.92 mmol)in dry DCM was added oxalyl chloride (2.22 ml, 25.85 mmol, 2 eq) and cat. dry DMF. The reaction was stirred under r.t. for 3hthen concentrated. The crude material was used in the next step without further purification.4 in dry DCM (0.1 M) with pyridine (1.34 ml, 16.52 mmol, 2 eq) was added cat. DMAP (0.1 g, 0.83 mmol, 0.1 eq). Then
