Compound 161a:; 161aTo an ethanol solution (50 mL ) of 6-hydroxy-naphthalene-2-carboxylic acid (5.29 g, 28.0 mmol) was added thionyl chloride (6 mL ) at 0°C. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 72h. Excess reagents were evaporated. The residue was dissolved in ethyl acetate (100 mL ).
