2-Chloro-1,1-diethoxyethane Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

It is derived from acetaldehyde diethanol chlorination. Add acetaldehyde diethyl acetal to the reaction pot, and pass chlorine at 40-45°C until the relative density of the reaction solution reaches 1.10-1.12 (35°C), and eliminate hydrogen chloride and residual chlorine. Add sodium carbonate at 25°C to neutralize until the reaction solution no longer generates carbon dioxide foam. After filtering, the filtrate is dried with anhydrous sodium carbonate and filtered to obtain the finished product.

Uses

Organic intermediates.
