Methods of Manufacturing

Using Streptomyces fradiae as the strain, the fermentation broth is obtained by culturing and fermenting, after adding a strong acid cation exchange resin to adsorb, eluting with ammonia water, and then concentrating the eluate through a thin film, then spray drying in sulfuric acid. . Neomycin is a multi-component aminoglycoside antibiotic. The main components are neomycin B and C (mainly B), containing a trace amount of neomycin A (Neamine).

Uses

A broad-spectrum antibiotic with an antibacterial spectrum similar to kanamycin. Mainly for local application to treat various skin infections and ear infections caused by sensitive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Proteus

Drug Function and Efficacy

Neomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that acts against a broad spectrum of Gram-negative and some Gram-positive bacteria by inhibiting protein synthesis; it is commonly used topically for superficial infections.
