3-Hydroxy-N-naphthalen-1-ylnaphthalene-2-carboxamide Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Using 2, 3-acid and 1-naphthylamine as raw materials, firstly 2, 3-acid is made into sodium salt, and then condensed with 1-naphthylamine in the presence of phosphorus trichloride, and then neutralized, distilled, filtered and washed , Dry the finished product. Add 4000-5000L of chlorobenzene, 500L of 30% sodium hydroxide, and 630kg of 2, 3-acid (100%) in the salt-forming pot. Dehydrate at elevated temperature to 134-135°C, and the end point is transparent and anhydrous in the distilled liquid. The volume of feed liquid is about 2800-3000L. Press the above salt-forming solution into the condensation pot, add 479kg (100%) of 1-naphthylamine when cooled to 90°C, continue to cool to about 67°C, and add phosphorus trichloride-chlorobenzene mixture uniformly within 2h ( (55%-60% mixed solution made of 230kg phosphorus trichloride and anhydrous chlorobenzene). After the addition, the temperature is 118-120℃, and the temperature is kept for 2h. Add 1000L of water and 330L of 30% sodium hydroxide into the distillation kettle, then press into the above condensation solution, stir for 15min, and control pH=8-8.5. Then pass in direct steam to distill chlorobenzene until the distilled liquid is clear and non-chlorobenzene. Then add hot water above 90℃ to wash until the filtrate is clear, dehydrated and dried to obtain about 960kg of finished product.

Uses

Mainly used as a primer for cotton fiber dyeing and printing, and as an intermediate for organic pigments, and for the manufacture of fast pigments.
