Cinepazide maleate Use and Manufacturing
Cinepazide maleate is a maleate salt form of cinepazide which is a vasodilator.
Drug Function and Efficacy
This product is a calcium channel blocker. It relaxes vascular smooth muscle and dilates cerebral, coronary and peripheral blood vessels by preventing Ca2+ from crossing the membrane and entering the vascular smooth muscle cells, thereby relieving vasospasm, reducing vascular resistance and increasing blood flow. This product can enhance the effects of adenosine and cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and reduce oxygen consumption. This product can inhibit cAMP phosphodiesterase and increase the amount of cAMP. This product can also improve the flexibility and deformability of red blood cells, improve their ability to pass through small blood vessels, reduce blood viscosity and improve microcirculation. This product improves brain metabolism by increasing blood flow in cerebral blood vessels.
