The trial operation of Lanxess's first fire resistant phosphate hydraulic fluid production line in China has been successful
"China is the largest regional market for our business in the Asia-Pacific region, and there is a strong demand from our customers for local production," said Yuhang Liu, head of LANXESS Lubricant Addition Business in Asia Pacific. The new production line will not only significantly shorten our local response time to meet the increasing demand of the Chinese market, but also further enhance the stability of the regional supply chain."
Meet the needs of local customers
In the past decade, the market size of China's hydraulic industry has been growing. With the new production line, LANXESS will be able to tailor phosphate fire-resistant hydraulic fluids to the most stringent specifications and performance standards for Chinese customers, as well as for customers in the rest of the Asia-Pacific region and around the world.
The Reolube® Turbofluid series produced by LanxESS Nantong new production line is a type of phosphate ester fire-resistant hydraulic fluid, mainly for the power industry. It has good oxidation stability, air release and emulsification resistance, and is suitable for the electro-hydraulic control system of steam turbines, as well as various systems using high-precision servo valves. Compared with other fire-resistant hydraulic fluids, this product has a very high flash point, ignition point and spontaneous ignition point, and can be used as a fire-resistant lubricant in steam turbines and gas turbines in various power plants.
This phosphate fire-resistant fluid not only meets or exceeds the requirements of the industry's major original equipment manufacturers, but also meets the more stringent Chinese Power Industry standard DL/T571-2014, as well as HFDR fire-resistant fluid ISO standards 12922 and ASTM4293.
Enhance the stability of regional supply chains
Wang Jing, General manager of LANXage Nantong Production Base, said: "The new production line is LANXage's largest investment in Nantong since the acquisition of Chempoly. It highlights LANXage's confidence in building a sustainable base in Nantong to serve local customers, and will greatly enhance LANXage's regional supply capabilities in China and the Asia-Pacific region."
Lansheng Nantong factory is located in Nantong Economic Development Zone, covers an area of more than 100,000 square meters, mainly produces polyurethane products and lubricating oil products. In 2021, LanXESS Nantong plant was successfully included in the list of green factories issued by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology. The new production line adopts intelligent production and meets the highest standards in terms of safety, equipment energy saving, water consumption, emission reduction and sanitation.
Reolube® was formerly a brand of Chemtura, which was formed in 2005 through the merger of Compton and Great Lakes Chemical Companies. With the completion of LANXESS 'acquisition of Cojua in 2017, the lubricant additives portfolio including Reolube® was integrated into the LanXESS Lubricant Additives business unit, further positioning LANXESS as one of the leading suppliers of lubricant additives and specialty lubricants.
