Italy released a report on the state of the nation's health 2017-2021
On 20 October 2022, the Italian Ministry of Health released the National Health Status Report 2017-2021 (RSSP). The main contents are as follows: (1) In terms of foodborne diseases, in 2017, the most reported zoonotic disease in Italy was salmonellosis (3347 cases), which decreased from 3635 cases to 2713 cases between 2018 and 20203. In 2018, 26 cases of botulism were detected, and in 2019, there was an outbreak of trichinellosis. The reason was that 10 people ate wild boar meat; Future plans are for national prevention plans for the prevention of foodborne diseases in humans, enhanced surveillance and sharing of laboratory information, and eventually harmonisation of surveillance of foodborne diseases at the European level; (2) 605 Italian products were early warning in European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) from 2017 to 2020, and 1,619 notifications were issued by Italy through RASFF, mainly involving China, Turkey and India; After analysis, the reasons for notification mainly involved the presence of pathogenic microorganisms, followed by pesticide residues and mycotoxins, including Salmonella, ethylene oxide in sesame seeds and other vegetables. (3) In terms of animal epidemic situation and food safety, from 2017 to 2021, a total of 12849 batches of animals were imported, and 32 batches were found to be unqualified. During 2017-2020, there were avian influenza outbreaks in Veneto, Lombardi and Emilia · Romania, with 83 outbreaks in 2017 affecting about 2.7 million birds and experiencing a more severe round in October 2021 with 318 outbreaks in Veneto and Lombardi; From 2017 to 2021, a total of 255 listed veterinary drug products were tested, and 26 were unqualified.
