Together for sustainability, Perstorpoffers carbon footprint values for 85% of its products
Perstorp is in compliance with the new industry standard for ProductCarbon Footprint (PCF) set by the industry to jointly promote sustainability.Perstorp is already able to provide a Product Carbon Footprint value (based onsales volume) for approximately 85% of its products, with more being added allthe time.
Asthere is an increasing focus on reducing CO2 emissions and sharing carbonfootprints at the product level, there is a growing interest in the carbonfootprint of products. Perstorp currently has carbon footprint values for morethan 80 products. These values are updated annually on a plant-by-plant basis. All carbon footprint values for Perstorp Pro-Environment products are ISCC PLUScertified.
Carbon footprint data is critical for companies committed to achievingCO2 reduction goals and making informed decisions by comparing the footprintsof different products. In order for companies down the chain, including brandowners, to calculate the carbon footprint of their individual products, thechemical industry must provide this data for their products, which are used asraw materials for thousands of final products.
"Sharing this information transparently with our customers is animportant part of being a sustainable solutions provider and meeting the needsof the value chain," said Anna Berggren, vice president of sustainabilityat Perstorp.
