Danone introduces plant-based nutritional supplements to China
On May 18, the Danone public account announced that it had introduced plant-based sports nutrition supplement VEGA ONE from the United States, including VEGA ONE * Sport sports plant nutrition series and VEGA ONE all-in-one plant protein nutrition powder series.
It is understood that the introduction of VEGA ONE is Danone ’s strategic move to deploy plant-based businesses in the Chinese market, accelerate the deployment of plant-based markets in China, and enrich Danone ’s product categories in the Chinese market. The target group of VEGA ONE is sports enthusiasts, fitness exercise groups and sub-health groups. It has been sold in Tmall overseas flagship stores.
In 2019, Danone's full-year sales increased by 2.6% to 25.29 billion euros (about 193 billion yuan). Among them, sales in the Chinese market accounted for about 10% of the global market, about 2.529 billion euros.
