This Week's Aniline Market Shows High Prices (8.31-9.4) in China

September 4th news

I. Price Trends

According to the commodity market analysis system, the aniline market in China saw a high-level increase this week. The price of aniline was 13,425 CNY/ton on August 31 and 13,525 CNY/ton on September 4, rising by 0.74% within the week and increasing by 79.14% compared to the same period last year.

II. Analysis and Commentary

During the week, supported by high Aniline prices, Aniline prices slightly increased. With high raw material prices, the profit margins for downstream Aniline products have narrowed, leading to a decrease in purchasing willingness, with only essential needs being met. The rise in the price of raw material benzene has driven up Aniline prices. As of this Friday, the mainstream quotation for Aniline in China is 13,500-13,600 CNY/ton.

Cost perspective: The supply and demand balance in the pure benzene market is becoming more relaxed. On one hand, production enterprises are increasing their output, while on the other hand, although downstream profits have been restored, operations are still affected by the terminal market, leading to a slow increase in output. The current inventory levels remain low, and the supply of circulating goods has not yet increased, resulting in firm prices. In the short term, geopolitical tensions have re-emerged, and the logic of a shortage of pure benzene is once again dominating, leading to an upward shift in the price center.

3. Future Market Expectations

Currently, the price of aniline has surged to a high level. The market is absorbing the price increase, and under high costs, downstream buyers are becoming less active, with demand driven primarily by essential needs. It is expected that in the short term, aniline prices will face significant resistance to further increases. We should closely monitor changes in both cost factors and demand.
