Symrise Nantong Incense Factory opened

On May 18, 2020, the new flavor and fragrance production base constructed by Symrise Investment in Nantong was officially opened, which was also Symrise's largest single investment. This major project with a total investment of 50 million euros will eventually form an annual production capacity of 45,000 tons of flavors and fragrances. Symrise Executive Committee, senior management, factory workers and guests attended the opening ceremony for the first time through a video conference.

 In 2016, after several rounds of inspections and comparisons, the Symrise Group felt that Nantong Development Zone ’s excellent location advantages (near Shanghai), good business environment and sustainability advantages finally decided to locate the factory project here. And build into a regional production base.

 Bullish on the Chinese market

De Zhixin believes that China, as the world's second largest economy, has the potential to rapidly grow into the largest economy, so expanding the production of flavors and fragrances in the rapidly developing Chinese market is an inevitable move. At the same time, this decision is very relevant to the development of De Zhixin in China. In the past ten years, Symrise's average annual growth rate was 8%; the Chinese market accounted for 6% of total sales, followed by the United States and Germany to become Symrise's third largest market in the world.

By building a modern factory in Nantong, Symrise has issued a clear signal for future development in China.
