A new outbreak of haemorrhage in rabbits in Norway

On November 17, 2022, the Norwegian Ministry of Agriculture and Food reported to WOAH that there was an outbreak of rabbit hemorrhage in Norway.


The outbreak occurred in Sveo, Westland, and was confirmed on 13 October 2022. The source of the outbreak is unknown or uncertain. Clinical, autopsy and laboratory tests found that 5 rabbits became ill and died.


The outbreak is still ongoing, and the Norwegian Ministry of Agriculture and Food will submit a follow-up report on a weekly basis.
