DSM launches commercial carpets to achieve material recycling
DSM, a global science company active in nutrition, health and sustainable living, recently announced that DSM-Niaga has launched the Again™ carpet series. Again™ is a commercial wide carpet designed for recycling applications, specifically for offices. There are two unique aspects of carpets. It is made of recyclable materials and can be recycled into new carpets after use. Moreover, it meets the highest quality standards for commercial carpets. With DSM's proprietary reversible adhesive, products made with Niaga® technology are simple, clean and reversible. They help promote a healthy living and working environment. Again™ commercial office carpets feature DSM’s Niaga® label and are the latest innovative products designed for recycling applications.
In Europe alone, 1.6 billion tons of carpets are discarded each year, 95% of which are eventually landfilled and incinerated. Again™ is the answer to this severe situation.
Again™ commercial carpets are designed to be cyclic with Niaga® technology. It is produced using only two materials: polyamide 6 and polyester. This makes it free of volatile organic compounds (VOC) and toxic flame retardants. More importantly, the face fiber and auxiliary lining of Again™ carpet are made of 100% recyclable materials. Due to the modular design, it can be recycled and reused again and again. By scanning the Niaga® label of Again™ carpets, customers can access an overview of materials used to produce carpets and recycling instructions.
In addition, Chantal Jörissen, Director of Product Marketing at DSM-Niaga, emphasized: “Although the Again™ carpet series is specifically designed for recycling applications, there are more differences. I believe facility managers will be happy to hear the tape on the carpet There is a soft soundproof cushion. And, it does not have the typical'new carpet smell'. In addition, there are 25 beautiful colors to choose from, so it is easy to find the color that matches the style of the office."
The Again™ series shows that we can design commercial carpets with roundness and still meet the highest standards in the market. Kelly Hall, Managing Director of DSM-Niaga emphasized: "Together with our partners, it is proved that it is actually possible to close the loop within the value chain. We believe that in the value chain, we should fundamentally change our concepts to design Reduce waste and protect valuable materials. This is how we contribute to the bright future of mankind and the planet.
