Clariant launches global popular formula to guide formulators

ECHEMI 2020-06-05

Swiss chemical company Clariant has launched the first wave of formulations led by current trends for the cosmetics industry.

These formulas are part of the fourth edition of the company's "BeautyForward" guide. The guide predicts the trend among consumers of different age groups and provides three industry insights designed to help product developers meet consumer needs.

For millennials, Clariant has launched Insta-Ready smoothing make-up front milk, Cosmic Glitter hair and body gel, and Crushed Candy frosted squares. These all belong to the company's Fantasy Formulations series.

For consumers aged 50-60, Clariant's Embracing Aging category has launched Illuminating Silver Hair Nectar specifically for increasing hair volume and gloss, and Denadvance Life, a softener for thinning hair.

Clariant has also followed the trend of Active Beauty and launched the Fight the Frizz hair care stick to smooth out frizz and mess and increase healthy shine. In addition, the company also released a Tinted Mineral SPF30 Stick sunscreen and a solid shampoo.

Fabio Caravieri, Global Marketing Director of Clariant Consumer Care, said: "This year, through collaboration with journalists, opinion leaders, formulators and marketers, we have refined global trends that cater to specific target groups."
