SABIC Releases New Resin for Photovoltaics
Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) has announced the launch of a polycarbonate-based copolymer resin that can meet the stringent performance and regulatory requirements of 1.5 kV solar systems when used in photovoltaic connectors.
Zhao Fanli, Director of LNP and NORYL Business Management of SABIC, said: "In order to help photovoltaic customers meet the industry development trend, especially the development from 1.0kV to 1.5kV systems, SABIC is actively developing new materials with higher performance. Our new The first-generation LNP EXL9334P resin grade complies with stringent international standards for 1.5 kV modules. In addition to addressing changing industry requirements, this new material supports our sustainable development strategy by driving the adoption of solar energy, a renewable energy source."
According to reports, the popularization of 1.5kV photovoltaic systems is an important industry trend. The system can not only improve power generation efficiency, but also reduce costs. However, the transition from 1.0 kV to 1.5 kV systems places stricter requirements on the performance and safety standards of all components, the most critical of which is high tracking index performance. Other performance requirements are also important, such as good ductility when exposed to very cold outdoor temperatures.
