Singapore has suspended imports of poultry products from areas of the United States affected by bird flu
On 28 December 2022, the Food Authority of Singapore (SFA) announced the suspension of imports of poultry and products from areas near the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in the United States.
As a result of the highly pathogenic H5 avian influenza outbreaks in Davis County, Indiana, and Moody County, South Dakota, in the United States, Singapore will impose temporary restrictions on the import of poultry and its products within 10km of the affected areas. Poultry products that meet the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) avian influenza virus inactivation requirements for heat treatment will not be affected by import restrictions.
Poultry products exported from Davis County, Indiana before December 13, 2022 and killed before November 29, 2022 will continue to be accepted for import. Poultry products exported from Moody County, South Dakota, before December 14, 2022 and killed before November 30, 2022 will continue to be accepted for import.
