Louis Dreyfus will partner with Koppert to sell biologics in Brazil
Trading companies Louis Dreyfus (LDC) and Koppert Biosystems (Koppert) have entered into a partnership to jointly market and promote the use of biologics in Brazil.
LDC aims to ensure that by 2027 it sells 8 per cent of all pesticides in Brazil as biologics. The integration of the company's entire input business plan into the grain and oilseeds business structure will help achieve this goal. The strategy also aims to expand the transition to low-carbon value chains.
According to Koppert, Brazil's biologics industry will grow by 300 percent by 2030, with a national market value of $1.8 billion and a global market value of $23 billion. LCDS will transfer inputs through direct sales or barter transactions, such as exchanging products for grain.
These biological agents will first be made available in Mato Grosso and Goias states, followed by other regions.
This is an essential step to reinforce our commitment to provide more complete and diverse solutions. Louis Dreyfus has been selling agricultural inputs in Brazil since 2011, with pesticides accounting for about 10 percent of sales, "said Bruno Andrade, commercial director of Louis Dreyfus Brazil Inputs.
