Lupin Launches Generic Safyral Tablets In The Us

Pharma major Lupin has announced the launch of its Tydemy Tablets (Drospirenone, Ethinyl Estradiol, Levomefolate Calcium, 3 mg/0.03 mg/0.451 mg and Levomefolate Calcium, 0.451 mg) having received an approval from the USFDA earlier. The drug is the generic equivalent of Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals Inc.’s Safyral tablets, which are indicated for use by women to prevent pregnancy and to raise folate levels in women who choose to use an oral contraceptive for contraception. It had annual sales of approximately $22-mn in the US.
