With an annual output of 1.2 million tons of ethylene glycol co-production and 100,000 tons of DMC, the construction started in Dazhou, Sichuan

On January 3, the groundbreaking ceremony of Sichuan Zhengda Kai New Materials Co., Ltd.'s annual output of 1.2 million tons of ethylene glycol co-production of 100,000 tons of electronic grade dimethyl carbonate project was held at the project site of Xuanhan County Advanced Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park, Dazhou City.

Sichuan Zhengda Kai New Materials is a subsidiary of Zhejiang Zhengkai Group, which is a joint venture established by Zhejiang Zhengkai Investment Co., Ltd. (equity ratio 80%) and Dazhou Investment Co., Ltd. (equity ratio 20%), with a registered capital of 100 million yuan. The Xuanhan Advanced Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park settled in it is a major project in Dazhou in 2023, and it is also a demonstration project of east-west collaborative industry and comprehensive development and utilization of natural gas, with a total planned investment of 23 billion yuan, the first phase of investment will reach 11.17 billion yuan, and the first phase of construction is planned to be completed and put into operation in 2024.

Zhengda Kai 1.2 million tons/year MEG co-production 100,000 tons/year DMC project adopts Shanghai Pujing Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. ethylene glycol co-production dimethyl carbonate core process technology, China Chengda Engineering Co., Ltd. for engineering design.

The project is divided into two phases.

The first phase of construction is 600,000 tons/year polyester grade ethylene glycol, by-product quality grade DMC (dimethyl carbonate) 18,000 tons/year, chemical pure ethanol 6,796 tons/year, mixed monoethanol 11,900 tons/year, light diol 13,500 tons/year, heavy diol 12,300 tons/year.

The second phase of construction is 600,000 tons/year polyester-grade ethylene glycol co-production of electronic grade DMC 100,000 tons/year, mixed monoethanol 11,900 tons/year, light diol 13,500 tons/year, heavy diol 12,300 tons/year. Among the 100,000 tons of DMC, 36,000 tons/year of DMC is obtained from the purification of first-phase and second-stage ethylene glycol by-product excellent grade DMC, and 64,000 tons/year is obtained by the deCO of DMO (dimethyl oxalate) synthesized in the first and second phases.
