Greenland's first outbreak of highly pathogenic influenza A

According to the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), on January 5, 2023, Greenland reported to WOAH that an outbreak of H5N1 highly pathogenic influenza A occurred in Greenland.

 
The outbreak occurred in Greenland's exclusive economic zone and was confirmed on 30 December 2022. The source of the outbreak is exposure to wild species. Laboratory tests found that 2 crows became ill and died.
 
The outbreak is not over yet, and Greenland will submit a follow-up report on a weekly basis.
