2022 titanium dioxide industry data summary
According to recent statistics from the Titanium Dioxide Sub-center of the Chemical Industry Productivity Promotion Center and the Secretariat of the Titanium Dioxide Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, in 2022, there will be a total of 41 full-process titanium dioxide manufacturers with normal production conditions in the whole industry (excluding 3 enterprises that stopped production during the year and 1 enterprise that resumed statistics). The total amount of rutile and anatase titanium dioxide and other related products produced by 41 enterprises reached 3.861 million tons, an increase of 71,000 tons year-on-year, an increase of 1.87%.
Among the total amount of 3.861 million tons of titanium dioxide and related products, rutile products were 3.326 million tons, accounting for 86.14% of the total output, an increase of 3.64 percentage points over the previous year; anatase type was 411,000 tons, accounting for 10.64% of the total output, down 2.36 percentage points from the previous year; non-pigment grade and other types of products were 124,000 tons, accounting for 3.21%, down 1.29 percentage points from the previous year.
Among the total output of 3.861 million tons, chlorination products were 497,000 tons, a significant increase of 121,000 tons or 32.18% over the previous year. Chlorination products accounted for 12.87% of the total output and 14.94% of the output of rutile products, both of which increased significantly over the previous year.
In 2022, 16 of the 40 comparable production enterprises increased production, accounting for 40%; 23 declined, accounting for 57.5%; 1 remained flat, accounting for 2.5%.
