Glycosyltransferase applied to trehalose production technology breakthrough
Recently, the sugar alcohol plant of Shandong Tianli Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. succeeded in its self-produced glycosyltransferase production scale-up experiment and realized its application in the production of trehalose, reducing the production cost of trehalose by more than 500 yuan per ton.
In 2019, the R&D Center of Tianli Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. used genetic engineering technology to construct a glycosyltransferase-producing strain. In July of this year, the company will conduct scale-up experiments for its self-produced glycosyltransferase in trehalose production. After adjusting the key process control parameters and the amount of enzyme preparation in the enzyme production fermentation section and the sugar chemical section, they applied the self-produced glycosyltransferase in the one-step saccharification of trehalose, and the saccharification conversion rate fully met the process requirements.
At present, the company's annual production capacity of trehalose is 10,000 tons. After the successful application of self-produced glycosyltransferase in trehalose production, the company can increase its annual profit by more than 5 million yuan.
