ECHEMI 2020-09-03

The Nutrition and Health Department of BASF launched a new daily chemical spice Velberry, which is sweet and fruity.

This is the first spice developed by BASF Nutrition and Health under the "Virtual Innovation Ecosystem" (Virtual Innovation Ecosystem). The platform was created by BASF's chemistry, research and compliance experts and its fragrance and formulation partners to accelerate the development of new fragrances for the fragrance and fragrance market.

Steffen Götz, head of BASF's fragrance department, said: "With Velberry, we have not only successfully met the needs of our customers and made their fragrances stand out, but also met the market's demand for sustainable alternatives. The focus is on favorable prices."

According to BASF's official website, on this platform, experts can search for molecules that can be used as fragrances in all BASF chemicals, and then a large number of candidate molecules will go through strict screening and optimization procedures.

Ralf Pelzer, head of new business development for BASF's fragrance division, said: "We will ask perfumers for feedback, evaluate these substances together, and then develop the most potential candidates. At present, our pipeline has Full, more innovative spices are coming soon."
