Avantor's Panoli Facility Gets Appreciation Certificate in India

Avantor, the US-based supplier of high-performance chemistries and materials under several brand names, including the ‘J.T.Baker’, ‘NuSil’, ‘Rankem’, among others, has announced that the National Safety Council in India (NSC) has its cGMP manufacturing facility in Panoli, Gujarat, with a ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ in the manufacturing sector covering the ‘Manufacture of chemicals & chemical products, manufacture of pharmaceuticals, medicinal chemical and botanical products’.

The objective of the NSC awards programme is to recognise consistent and meritorious Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) performance; recognise effective implementation of OSH management systems, practices and procedures; and encourage continual commitment to OSH.

According to Mr. Devashish Ohri, Avantor Executive Vice President, APAC & MEA, the company’s Panoli facility has achieved a zero Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) over the past five years. “Safety plays an integral role in the operations and management of our facility. This certificate is a strong endorsement of our unwavering commitment to provide our employees with the training, tools and technology they need to ensure a safe and healthy work environment,” he stated.

Avantor’s Panoli plant is ISO 9001:2008 certified and approved by the Indian Food and Drug Administration. The facility produces highpurity solvents, salts and solutions under cGMP conditions that comply with Indian Pharmacopoeia (IPC), US Pharmacopeia (USP), National Formulary (NF), European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.), Japanese Pharmacopoeia (JP) and British Pharmacopoeia (BP).

Avantor’s India headquarters is located at Gurgaon, while its manufacturing facilities are at Panoli and Dehradun (Uttarakhand).
