Biosyntia develops natural fermentation biotin BIO-B7
Copenhagen biotechnology company Biosyntia announced that it has developed a naturally fermented biotin BIO-B7.
Biotin (Vitamin B7/Vitamin H) is a water-soluble vitamin that can help the body convert food into energy and help the skin, hair, eyes, liver and nervous system health.
In the current market, most of the biotin is a synthetic product, which is made by chemical synthesis from crude oil. BIO-B7 uses a natural fermentation process, which can significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions, chemical waste, air pollution and water use, and has more sustainable value.
The raw material can be used in cosmetics, supplements and animal feed.
Cecilie Oest-Jacobsen, Biosyntia’s release manager, said: “By adopting BIO-B7, formulators and brands can claim that their products contain naturally fermented biotin from sustainable sources. At the same time, our products are very pure and complete throughout the process. Traceability can help customers create new value propositions in the market, so that consumers can buy with confidence."
Currently, Biosyntia is arranging the first batch of production, and is in close consultation with customers and partners, and plans to launch products containing the raw material.
