See through the secrets behind cosmetic ingredient labels
What is the full ingredient label?
1. According to the "General Labeling of Consumer Goods and Cosmetics" issued by the General Administration of Quality Inspection and Quarantine and the National Standardization Administration, starting from June 17, 2010, all cosmetics produced and imported in China must be in the product The name of all the ingredients added in the product formula is clearly marked on the package.
2. The full ingredient label includes all cosmetics produced and sold in China, such as skin care products, color cosmetics, hair care products, hair styling products (gel, hair gel, hair mud, styling spray and mousse, etc.), hair dye products, Perm products, toothpaste, mouthwash, etc.
3. In the ingredient list with full ingredient identification, the ingredient names should be arranged in descending order of the added amount. The higher the ranking, the greater the proportion of this ingredient in the cosmetic.
4. In addition, in the full ingredient label, the ingredients with an added amount of less than or equal to 1% are placed after the ingredients with an added amount of more than 1%, and the arrangement is not in order. Therefore, in the full ingredient list, the last few ingredients may not have a relationship with the amount of addition, which means that they basically cannot play a functional role.
5. It is also worth noting that flavors and fragrances are uniformly marked in the full ingredient list with flavors, and pigments are marked with the number or Chinese name of the coloring agent.

Method 1: Through familiarity with single ingredients, understand the corresponding efficacy of the product
Soothing, the product you choose must have corresponding safe soothing ingredients. (Asiaticoside, ceramide, bisabolol, lecithin, avocado tree, chamomile extract, aloe juice, sterol, etc.)
Moisturizing, the skin care products you choose should contain (hyaluronic acid, glycerin, butylene glycol, ceramide, avocado, mineral oil, allantoin, mineral elements, etc.)
For whitening, the skin care products you choose should contain these ingredients (VC, Ascorbic Acid and its derivatives, nicotinamide, kojic acid, tranexamic acid, licorice extract, Arbutin, etc.)
Anti-aging, what ingredients should be included in the skin care products you choose? (Retinol and its derivatives, nicotinamide, peptides, amino acid peptides, bose, ceramide, soy isoflavones, polyphenols, etc.)
Method 2: Identify auxiliary ingredients and screen out effective cosmetic ingredients
General cosmetics are composed of active ingredients and auxiliary ingredients
Among cosmetic ingredients, what are the auxiliary ingredients? These include emulsifiers, gelling agents, Antioxidants, preservatives, flavors, etc. In fact, most of these 20 chemical substances are auxiliary ingredients, and only a few are the key ingredients that you should pay attention to.
The ingredients on the cosmetic packaging are arranged in order of decreasing percentage. The more in front of the component, the higher its percentage content; that is to say, we mainly focus on the top part of the component, in other words, the component in the particularly lower position can be ignored directly.
The following are some rules summarized for everyone:
Generally, these substances that are basically harmless and can be ignored have the following characteristics in their names:
1. Most of certain glycols are solvents and moisturizing effects, which can be ignored directly, such as: ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, butanediol;
2. Copolymers, mostly functional carriers or functional polymers, these substances are generally not absorbed by the human body, such as acrylic (ester) copolymers;
3. Coconut oil XX, mostly surfactants, is a cleaning agent, such as: Coco Betaine, Sodium Cocoyl Sarcosinate;
4. Plant name + alcohol/oil/fat. These substances may be active ingredients rather than auxiliary ingredients, but most of them are harmless, such as evening primrose oil, shea butter;
5. XX stearic acid/stearate is generally not a serious problem, usually emulsifiers, such as: diethanol distearic acid, tridecyl stearate, dipolyhydroxy stearate Fatty acid ester, sucrose stearate;
6. A certain silane/siloxane is generally a solvent and is basically safe, such as: polydimethyl silane, epoxy dimethyl siloxane, cyclopentadimethyl siloxane;
7. Some of the substances that we know originally have been written in a different way, such as: ascorbic acid (vitamin C), hyaluronic acid (hyaluronic acid);
Method 3: Before preservatives and emulsifiers
There are two important "references" in any formal full composition table, that is, the preservative and emulsifier components. The concentration of these two types of ingredients in the formula will never exceed 1%, so they can be used as the criterion for judging the content of active ingredients, and this standard is especially suitable for skin care products with the main plant concept.
Common preservatives: imidazolidinyl urea, caprolone, isothiazolinone, parabens (paraben), quaternary ammonium salt-15, benzoic acid/benzyl alcohol and derivative preservatives, Alcohols and derivatives as preservatives, benzoic acid/sodium benzoate/potassium sorbate, Bronopol, phenoxyethanol.
