Nestlé builds grain competence center in Harbin Twin Cities
Nestle officially announced its latest round of investment in China, establishing its first global grain competence center in the Shuangcheng District of Harbin, Heilongjiang, and investing 400 million RMB in Shuangcheng District to expand Nestle's multi-faceted business capabilities, support the sustainable development of agriculture in Heilongjiang and further strengthen the high-end production of Nestle's local factories. This marks the third consecutive year that Nestle has invested a total of RMB 700 million in Shuangcheng. Nestle looks forward to this new round of investment to help the local post-epidemic economic recovery and development.
It is reported that the Grain Competence Center will replicate the model of the Nestle Dairy Farming Training Center and Nestle Coffee Center, integrating training, exhibition and research in grain farming and further promoting the development of grain farming, especially organic grain farming, in Heilongjiang. The center will also function as an "agricultural competence center" platform, covering a wide range of agricultural raw materials including dairy, cereals, beans, fruits, vegetables, etc., to create a total agricultural production system and play a pivotal role in the process from farm to ingredient package, helping the sustainable development of the local agricultural environment.
