Pepsi's first sleep aid drink
Pepsi recently announced that it will debut a sleep-promoting and stress-relieving functional beverage called Driftwell, which contains 200 mg of L-theanine, which has been shown in preliminary studies to provide relaxation and mood-boosting effects. It also contains 10% of the recommended daily intake of magnesium, an essential nutrient for the body.
The product is described as a "fortified water drink" with a blackberry-lavender flavour, which is added to create a "subtle" and "soothing" sensation. Experience. The drink is also sugar and calorie free, and non-carbonated. Currently, it's in the "emergency category," which means it can be placed in a variety of places throughout the grocery store, including in health and beauty windows.
The drink will be sold in 7.5-ounce mini cans with a suggested retail price of $17.99 for a 10-pack, and is expected to enter the e-commerce and grocery markets in December 2020 and early 2021, respectively.
