Value added of chemical industry up 6.9% in August from a year earlier
China's National Bureau of Statistics has released data showing that in August, the value added of domestic industries above designated size actually increased by 5.6% year-on-year, up 1.02% from the previous month. Among them, the manufacturing of chemical raw materials and chemical products increased by 6.9% year-on-year.
By industry, in August, 29 out of 41 major industries maintained year-on-year growth in value-added, of which chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing increased by 6.9%, non-metallic mineral products industry increased by 5.0%, and the automobile manufacturing industry increased by 14.8%.
By product, in August, 394 out of 612 products increased year-on-year. Among them, 1.79 million tons of ethylene, up 8.6%; 2.088 million automobiles, up 7.6%; power generation 723.8 billion kWh, up 6.8%; crude oil processing 59.47 million tons, up 9.2%.
