Chinese Titanium Dioxide Market Largely Stable This Week (May 25-31, 2018)
The Chinese rutile titanium dioxide market remained largely stable this week. Up to May 31, mainstream negotiation prices were in the range of RMB 15,000-17,300/mt. The average price was RMB 16,475/mt, unchanged from last week. Producers’ offers were stable and negotiation prices were flexible. The supply was stable and the downstream demand was hard to improve. The export volume increased steadily. Most players showed a wait-and-see position.

This week, the anatase Titanium Dioxide market prices remained stable. Up to May 31, 2018, mainstream negotiation prices were in the range of RMB 13,000-14,500/mt. The average price was RMB 13,858/mt, unchanged from last week. The overall operating rate was not high and the supply was modest. The downstream demand was thin.

Forecast
Producers’ prices are stable and mainstream negotiation prices inch down. Traders’ sales prices are slightly lower. The demand in the domestic market is flat, and some producers tend to export goods to the foreign market. It is predicted that the Chinese Titanium Dioxide market will continue to move marginally in the short term.
