The Sustainable Cosmetics Summit will be held in New York City from May 4th to 5th
After four years of absence, the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit will return to North America this spring. The Executive Summit will be held in New York City from May 4th to 5th, with a focus on introducing green materials, new technologies, and marketing.
The summit will discuss for the first time how sustainable development can encourage innovation in the beauty industry. How can green materials create innovative cosmetics and personal care products? What new components are emerging from upgrading, reengineering, and blue Amazon? How does artificial intelligence help create sustainable products? What are the innovations in anhydrous products and deodorants? These issues will be addressed in this version.
The climate emergency has brought pressure to cosmetics companies to reduce carbon emissions. Sarah Bloch from the Carbon Disclosure Project will explain how operators can decarbonize their raw material supply chain. She will demonstrate how cosmetics and ingredient companies measure and reduce range 3 emissions. Ellie Reed will explain how the climate neutrality certification program has gained attention; More than 40 cosmetics and personal care brands have adopted this standard.
At the recent United Nations Conference on Biodiversity, 195 countries pledged to protect 30% of their land and water by 2030. An industry expert will discuss the impact of the Kunming Montreal global biodiversity framework, especially in the procurement of cosmetic ingredients. Oushudan Group will explain how it responds to the loss of biodiversity through its strategy that benefits nature. The company promises to purchase all plant ingredients in a way that benefits biodiversity by 2025.
The final part of the summit will provide case studies on sustainable product innovation. A leading brand will share its experience in developing anhydrous cosmetics: solid shampoos, moisturizers, and related products. Greg Laptevsky will discuss how his Myro brand can disrupt the deodorant market through its sustainable refillable products. Hedy Scheck will focus on the development of microbiome friendly products. Starting from skincare, we are now launching a wide range of microbial friendly products. Shane Price, CEO of Green Circle Salons, will discuss practical ways to move hair salons towards a cycle.
