LyondellBasell launches world's largest propylene oxide/tert-butanol plant
On March 14, LyondellBasell announced that it has successfully started up the world's largest propylene oxide (PO) and tertiary butanol (TBA) plant in Texas. The new units, located on the US Gulf Coast, can produce 470,000 tons of PO and 1 million tons of TBA and its derivatives per year.

Chris Cain, Senior Vice President of Global Manufacturing at LyondellBasell, said: "The new facility's world-leading capacity enables us to meet the growing demand for the necessities of modern life. Our company strives to be a trailblazer in the industry through our environmental and Sustainability initiatives to make a positive contribution. This project advances our company's goals and creates value while meeting customer and community needs. To complete a project of this magnitude, we worked with Bayport, Channelview and many Project teams collaborated."
