According to the news of the National Bureau of Statistics on May 27, from January to April, the total profits of industrial enterprises above designated size in China reached 2,032.88 billion yuan, down 20.6% year on year (according to the comparable diameter, see Note 2 for details).

 

From January to April, among industrial enterprises above designated size, the total profit of state-owned holding enterprises was 757.98 billion yuan, down 17.9 percent year on year. The total profits of joint-stock enterprises reached 1.496.24 billion yuan, down 22.0%; The total profit of enterprises invested by foreign businessmen, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan businessmen was 467.79 billion yuan, down 16.2 percent. The total profit of private enterprises was 524.03 billion yuan, down 22.5 percent.

 

From January to April, the total profit of the mining industry was 475.24 billion yuan, down 12.3% year-on-year; The total profit of the manufacturing industry was 1.372.37 billion yuan, down 27.0%; The total profit of the electricity, heat, gas and water production and supply industry was 185.27 billion yuan, up 34.1%.

 

From January to April, among the 41 industrial categories, the total profit of 13 industries increased year on year, 1 industry was flat, and 27 industries decreased. The profits of the main industries are as follows: The total profit of the electricity and heat production and supply industry increased by 47.2 percent year-on-year, the electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry increased by 30.1 percent, the general equipment manufacturing industry increased by 20.7 percent, the automobile manufacturing industry increased by 2.5 percent, the oil and gas mining industry decreased by 6.0 percent, the special equipment manufacturing industry decreased by 7.4 percent, and the coal mining and washing industry decreased by 14.6 percent. Non-metallic mineral products industry down 27.4%, textile industry down 30.2%, agricultural and sideline food processing industry down 36.3%, computer, communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry down 53.2%, non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry down 55.1%, chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry down 57.3%. Oil, coal and other fuel processing industries fell 87.9 percent, and ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industries fell 99.4 percent.

 

From January to April, the operating revenue of industrial enterprises above designated size reached 41.07 trillion yuan, up 0.5% year on year. The operating cost was 34.98 trillion yuan, up 1.6%; The profit margin of operating income was 4.95%, down 1.32 percentage points year-on-year.

 

At the end of April, the assets of industrial enterprises above designated size totaled 158.55 trillion yuan, up 7.3% year on year. Total debt amounted to 90.80 trillion yuan, up 7.8%; Owners' equity totaled 67.75 trillion yuan, up 6.5%; The asset-liability ratio was 57.3%, up 0.3 percentage points year on year.

 

At the end of April, accounts receivable of industrial enterprises above designated size reached 21.94 trillion yuan, up 12.6 percent year on year. The inventory of finished goods was 6.13 trillion yuan, up 5.9%.

 

From January to April, the cost per 100 yuan of operating income of industrial enterprises above designated size was 85.18 yuan, an increase of 0.91 yuan year-on-year; Expenses per 100 yuan of operating revenue was 8.40 yuan, up 0.31 yuan year on year.

 

At the end of April, the operating income of industrial enterprises above designated size was 78.2 yuan per 100 yuan of assets, down 5.6 yuan year-on-year. The per capita operating income was 1.699 million yuan, an increase of 62 million yuan year-on-year; Finished goods inventory turnover days was 20.8 days, an increase of 1.3 days; The average payback period of accounts receivable was 63.1 days, an increase of 6.4 days year on year.
