Basf will distribute Essen 'Ciel ® from Vivagro
Basf and Vivagro, an innovative French company specializing in agro-ecological solutions, have reached an agreement to distribute Essen 'Ciel products in the Italian and Spanish markets.
Essen 'Ciel is a natural fungicide, insecticide and acaricide based on sweet orange essential oil that is approved for organic growing, including grapes, vegetables, berries, ornamental crops, industrial feedstock crops and arboriculture. Especially for fruit such as apples, pears and quince, Essen 'ciel can be used as an alternative biological control product when pesticides are scarce.
Essen 'ciel, one of Vivagro's core products, has a unique tactile action mechanism that dehydrates tissues of soft insects and pathogenic fungi that reach into the air. In addition, the application of this highly efficient product into the integrated pest management plan.
Marco Moorfeld, Vice President, European Market Management, BASF Agricultural Solutions, said: "Essen 'ciel will be integrated into BASF's bioproduct portfolio in Spain and Italy for distribution. Biologics are an important step to further support sustainable agriculture. Given the need to reduce the environmental impact of agriculture and benefit from advances in biological and production research and development, new partnerships are essential to meet the growing demand for biologics. The partnership with Vivo Valley adds to our portfolio of biological products for farmers.
Alain Petersen, Export Manager at Vivagro, said: "We are proud of our biological innovations. Bringing these products to market with BASF's support is an important milestone in further expanding our business and meeting the expectations of farmers and the agricultural industry." Basf and Vivagro expect the biological market to continue to evolve and look forward to further expanding their cooperation in the future.
