Syngenta: Storen™ was registered by the US Environmental Protection Agency

 Syngenta recently launched Storen™, its latest corn residue herbicide, which has been registered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and will be available for use in 2024, subject to state approval. Storen combines four powerful, residual active ingredients: Bicyclopyrone, Mesotrione, S-metolachlor, and Pyroxasulfone. The product is known to last three weeks longer than other leading corn herbicides. *

Storen can be used on field corn and seed corn before and after bud to control over 74 weed species

Shawn Hock, head of the corn herbicide program at Syngenta Crop Protection, said: "Weeds are constantly evolving, and Storen is more effective than the best herbicide solutions currently in use. In our survey of pre-sprout herbicide users, 40% of respondents reported difficulty in controlling amaranth and water hemp. That's why we invest in new and innovative products to help growers tackle emerging weed challenges, and we're excited to launch Storen to restore their confidence in weed control."

Matt Moreland, a grower from Medford, Okla., explains why farmers like him need Storen: "We grow on the Kansa-Oklahoma border and have problems with weeds like amaranth and grass. These weeds are exposed to herbicides before they develop resistance. We have adapted our approach to rely on long-acting herbicides to prevent weeds from appearing and taking over the field."

Brett Miller, Syngenta Crop Protection Field Development Area Leader, said: "Trials have shown Storen to be effective for up to three weeks when compared to other leading corn herbicides. Thanks to the combination of the four most potent active ingredients, Storen offers a higher level of control than any other product. Syngenta will conduct field trials of Storen at sites across the United States, and we will also demonstrate Storen use at our Decatur Farm in Illinois and Husker Harvest Days in Grand Island, Nebraska."
