Albaugh launches Clomate™ 3ME herbicide with the active ingredient Clomazone in the United States

2023-11-11

Albaugh recently announced that it has obtained registration with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for the herbicide ClomateTM 3ME (EPA Registration number 45002-60).

ClomateTM 3ME contains the active ingredient Clomazone, which has excellent weed control effects on paddy, tobacco, soybean and cucurbit plant and can be used for pre-budding control of annual grasses and broadleaf weeds, including Millet, Crab grass, Echinochloa crusgalli and Brachiaria brizantha, as well as lamb grass, foxtail and common ragweed in soybean and tobacco. Its microencapsulated formulations provide excellent handling and storage characteristics while minimizing the effects of non-target drift and volatilization.

According to Albaugh's Director of U.S. Sales, Clomazone has been a base pre-bud herbicide in traditional rice herbicide programs, and ClomateTM 3ME will provide rice growers in the South Central United States with a new Clomazone replacement product that demonstrates application flexibility up to the five-leaf stage.

ClomateTM 3ME, which is not yet registered for sale or use in California, will be available during the 2024 planting season through authorized distributors in Albaugh.
