Shchelkovo Agrokhim built a factory in Uzbekistan with more than 20,000 t/a pesticides

 On November 17, the Russian company Shchelkovo Agrokhim announced the commissioning of its formulation production plant Shchelkovo Agrohim Uzbekistan and held the opening ceremony of the plant.

The plant is expected to produce more than 20,000 tons of pesticides annually, and some of the products will be exported to neighboring Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

Located in the Urgut Free Economic Zone in Samarkand region, Shchelkovo Agrohim Uzbekistan received more than $30 million in investment and up to ten years of tax incentives from the local government. The plant was built in 2017 with a planned investment of $2 million to set up three production lines, but by early 2019, the project cost had increased to $3 million and the start date had been delayed several times due to factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

The expansion of Shchelkovo Agrokhim into Uzbekistan is an important milestone for Shchelkovo Agrokhim, which not only boosts its export capacity to neighboring countries, but will also have a significant impact on the Uzbek and Central Asian markets.
