India's BAL acquips 99% stake in Kashmir Chemicals to expand formulation production
India's Best Agrolife Ltd.(BAL) has made a strategic investment in Kashmir Chemicals, acquiring a 99% stake in the company, aiming to expand its production capacity to meet the growing market demand for agrochemical brands and formulations. The Deed of Reorganization of the partnership shall become effective on October 20, 2023 and shall become effective on September 16, 2023 and shall be duly registered with the competent authority of Samba.
This strategic move is expected to significantly expand BAL's formulation production capacity and increase its overall earnings by approximately Rs 3.5 crore (~ $42 million). In addition, BAL has been granted a 20-year patent period for its innovative invention "Rice Enhanced Granular Herbicide", which is scheduled to be launched under the brand name "Orisulam" during the Karif planting season.
Kashmir Chemicals is located in the first phase of India's Samba Industrial Growth Centre, registered in the district Industrial Centre and equipped with state-of-the-art machinery. The company specializes in the production of pesticide formulations, including EC concentrates, WP and GR. Its financial statements show that the former partners are Shri Shyamand Sharma and Shri Pardeep Kumar Jain, with an annual turnover of about Rs 1 crore and a good profit margin.
BAL, one of the top 15 agrochemical companies in India, is a research-based organization that serves farmers worldwide by providing world-class, cost-effective agrochemical preparations.
At present, BAL's three manufacturing facilities in Gajaraula, Greater Noida and Jammu and Kashmir, India, have an annual production capacity of 7,000 tons and 30,000 tons of technicals and formulations, respectively, and have more than 7,000 distributors, holding more than 450 formulations and 115 technicals production licenses, which is the largest product portfolio.
