The Rootella from Groundwork BioAg® is registered in China, Argentina and South Africa

2023-12-21

Groundwork BioAg® announced that the company's mycorrhizal inoculant Rootella® has been registered for commercial sale in China, Argentina and South Africa, giving farmers access to a new product to combat climate change and improve soil health. The new registration also adds about 677 million acres (274 million hectares) of arable land to the company's list of potential customers.

According to a recent report, the risks of chemical pesticides have prompted many governments to move aggressively towards biological alternatives. While the global agri-bio market is expected to expand at a CAGR of more than 13% through 2028, few bio companies are able to scale up to meet demand. Over the past few years, Groundwork BioAg® has expanded commercially in the United States, Brazil, India, Canada, Ukraine and other countries in Europe. With the addition of operations in China, Argentina and South Africa, the company and its local partners can now offer farmers, including those located in four major agricultural markets, the highest concentration of mycorrhizal inoculant products on the market, according to the company.

″Mr Hanan Dor, Chief Commercial Officer of Groundwork BioAg®, said: "Farmers are facing increasing environmental and financial pressures to grow their crops. As a leading supplier of mycorrhizal inoculant, Groundwork BioAg® is committed to working with local distributors to provide natural solutions that are suitable for modern agricultural production methods and in line with global sustainable development goals."

In China, led by its Hainan office, Groundwork BioAg® is completing local trials on corn, soybeans, wheat, cotton and specialty crops and is on track to offer Rootella products to Chinese farmers by 2024. According to Mr. Yang Shu, Groundwork BioAg®'s country manager in China, in view of the trial results, the company has received strong interest from several local distributors and will launch product sales in 2024."

″In South Africa, the company is working with AGRivested to support local farmers. Groundwork BioAg® also expects to conclude a distribution agreement with the Argentine company in 2024.

In addition, Dor notes that it has expanded production to support large farmers and millions of small farmers." With Queen of Biologicals™, farmers around the world can improve soils, sequester carbon and ensure sustainable high yields.
