Ascenza launches new products in Brazil with S-metolachlor and Spirodiclofen
Ascenza, a Portuguese multinational, has announced the launch of its herbicide Deflexo and acaricide Cloud in Brazil.
Deflexo
Deflexo is a pre-emergence herbicide with the active ingredient S-metolachlor formulated in a EC, a selective herbicide, which is applied before emergence to control narrow-leaved weeds.
Ascenza said Deflexo is registered in Brazil for use in cotton, sugar cane, rapeseed, pulses, sunflower seeds, corn and soybeans, and its target weeds include invasive species, Examples include Amaranthus hybridus, Amaranthus viridis, Brachiaria decumbens,(Brachiaria plantaginea, Cenchrus echinatus, Digitaria horizontalis, Eleusine indica, Galinsoga parviflora, Nicandra physaloides, Pennisetum setosum, Portulaca oleracea, Solanum americanum and Spermacoce latifolia.
Cloud
Cloud is a contact acaricide with the active ingredient Spirodiclofen in a SC formulation that can kill a wide range of mites. Ascenza expressed the product joins its portfolio of solutions for citrus crops and can also be used to combat mites affecting coffee, coconut, apple, papaya, rubber and tomato crops.
Ascenza, the specialist plant protection division of the Rovensa Group, has been working to expand its presence in Brazil, where it already offers 37 solutions for cereal, horticulture and fruit (HF) crops. For the 2023/24 planting season, Ascenza launched nine new products in the herbicide, insecticide and fungicide categories.
