SCCH Signs MoU with Explosives Manufacturer Dyno Nobel to Establish Ammonium Nitrate, Nitric Acid Plants in Ras Al Khair
Saudi Chemicals Company Holding (SCCH), through its subsidiary Saudi Chemicals Company Limited (SCCL), has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with DynoNobel to establish a production facility for the production of ammonium nitrate and nitric acid in Ras Al Khair.
The MoU is for six months, during which the project's preliminary studies and financial modeling will be revalidated and preliminary designs created by one of the specialist engineering firms for a final assessment of the project's feasibility.
The project will support key sectors and strategic projects related to the Kingdom's Vision 2030 to develop Saudi Arabia's defense and mining industries through localized production of raw materials required for the manufacture of civilian and military explosives. It is the first project of its kind in the region.
Commenting on the MoU, Thamer Al-Muhid, Managing Director of Saudi Chemical Company Holding, said: "We are honored to partner with Dyno Nobel to bring together expertise and resources to facilitate the realization of our country's ambitious Vision 2030 plans. We believe that this cooperation will enhance innovation, create value and develop the Saudi industrialization process."
