Syngenta and Hunan Academy of Agricultural Sciences signed a research cooperation agreement on the new herbicide Tetflupyrolimet

Recently, Bai Lianyang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Secretary of the Party Committee of Hunan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, met with Steve West, Director of Global plant protection development of Syngenta Group, and the two sides had in-depth exchanges on jointly carrying out "research and development of the new herbicide Tetflupyrolimet, and the two sides signed a cooperation development agreement on "research and development of the new herbicide Tetflupyrolimet".

 Academician Bo Lianyang pointed out that the current development of herbicide technology is facing new challenges, from the original highly dependent on chemical herbicide to the development of comprehensive herbicide solutions, and the development and application of new herbicides are greatly challenged by regional differences and environmental impacts. Hunan Academy of Agricultural Sciences has strong scientific research strength, and has accumulated rich technology and experience in herbicide research and application, weed resistance and other related fields. It is willing to work with Syngenta Group China to develop new products and technology demonstration.

Steve West introduced Syngenta's global plant protection research and development strategy and how to maintain the industry leadership, noting that population growth, climate change, sustainability, technology and digitalization, consumer and regulatory needs, and other factors pose many challenges to agricultural production. We hope to take this cooperation as an opportunity to establish more in-depth technical exchanges and cooperation with Hunan Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
