Reduce Emissions and Consumption by 50%, Archroma Launches Aromatic Amine-Free Dye Series

ECHEMI 2024-02-06

Archroma launches a new generation of AVITERA®SE dye series to achieve a more competitive cost and sustainable dyeing process for cellulose fibers and their blended fabrics. This move will help the revolutionary AVITERA®SE dyeing technology to be further promoted and applied among textile and apparel brands and printing and dyeing factories.

The new generation of AVITERA®SE dye series will greatly improve the price competitiveness of dark and ultra-dark colors. The new series can help printing and dyeing factories meet the environmental protection requirements of well-known textile and apparel brands and retailers and expand the color spectrum. While increasing output, improve production efficiency and reduce processing costs.

Dhirendra Gautam, Vice President of Product Marketing and Strategy of Archroma's Textile Chemicals Division, said: "AVITERA®SE dyes have been used by the world's leading apparel brands for more than a decade. The new generation AVITERA®SE dye series is a completely new and upgraded dyeing solution, which helps textile and apparel companies reduce costs while maintaining the excellent environmental protection of AVITERA®SE dyes."

The traditional dyeing process is difficult and costly to dye dark colors. Higher dye concentrations are required, consuming more water and energy, and requiring additional processes to achieve color. Additionally, dark fabrics tend to fade more noticeably than lighter fabrics, especially when exposed to sunlight and frequent home laundering.

Dhirendra added: "Our new generation AVITERA® SE range of dyes has made huge advances in technology, enabling the production of deep and ultra-dark colors in a sustainable dyeing process that remains new. The total cost is close to traditional cellulose fiber dyeing technology."

The new generation of AVITERA®SE dyes enables fast, low-temperature soaping, reliable processes and excellent dyeing reproducibility, which can reduce water and energy consumption as well as carbon dioxide and wastewater emissions in printing and dyeing plants by up to 50%. This dye series can also increase the output of printing and dyeing plants by at least 25%. This new generation of dyes does not contain aromatic amines such as p-chloroaniline, while providing excellent color fastness, allowing fabrics to retain their bright colors after multiple home washes, direct exposure to sunlight, sweat and chlorine.

The new generation of AVITERA® SE dye series adds two new colors, allowing dyeing and printing plants to achieve more color combinations in a wide color range and ensure high color consistency:

• AVITERA®BLACK PEARL SE: A greenish black with high color consistency and better homochromism.

• AVITERA®NIGHT STORM SE: A new greenish navy blue with a rich texture. Recommended for printing very dark navy blues and block colours.

Launched in 2010, the AVITERA®SE dye range sets new standards for sustainability in the textile industry. After years of development, the chromatogram provided by this dye series has been gradually completed, while the dyeing performance has been further improved, and the total production cost has been reduced through optimized formulas and energy conservation and emission reduction. The new generation AVITERA® SE dye range is the fourth generation of revolutionary dye solutions, adding deep and ultra-dark color spectrums to further enhance sustainable dyeing processes.
