Coty Signs Licensing Agreement with Italian Fashion Brand Marni
Coty has signed a licensing agreement with Italian fashion brand Marni to produce fragrances and beauty products.
The deal will see the brand owner develop fragrance and beauty pieces inspired by Marni's approach to materials and color in its fashion collections, with the first products from the collaboration expected to launch in 2026.
Coty said that this cooperation strengthens its influence in the luxury fragrance field, and currently has licensing agreements with brands such as Burberry, Gucci, Davidoff and Hugo Boss.
Marni previously entered into a fragrance licensing partnership with The Estée Lauder Companies in 2012. The company's sales grew by double digits in the first quarter of 2024, driven by demand for luxury fragrances, driven by new launches from the likes of Burberry and Gucci.
Meanwhile, the company recently renewed licensing deals with Dutch fashion brand Mexx and German lingerie brand Bruno Banani.
"We are delighted to announce our new partnership with Marni, a brand known for its innovation, creativity and unique approach to youthful luxury," said Coty CEO Sue Nabi. Marni has a strong reputation in the fashion industry, with brand strength particularly in Asia and Europe."
"This licensing agreement is consistent with Coty's highly successful strategic direction of focusing on fashion-driven licensing with multi-category potential to resonate in key markets. We are excited to begin working with Marni to develop premium beauty products that bring the fashion house’s visual style and beauty values to life."
Founded in 1994, Marni is known for its unique use of materials and color in fashion, with collections featuring bold colours, prints and shapes.
Marni CEO Barbara Calò added: "This alliance with Coty, a pioneer in the beauty industry, marks a key moment in Marni's growth and is in line with our commitment to delivering a holistic brand experience."
"By launching fragrances and beauty products that fit seamlessly into our brand universe, we are redefining the brand's boundaries and bringing new and affirming opportunities to Marni."
