US Implements Automatic Detention on Plant-Based Chicken Products Exported to Taiwan Region

In recent developments, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has implemented automatic detention measures on plant-based chicken products exported to the Taiwan region. This move comes as part of updated import alert measures published on the FDA's official website. 

Recently, the FDA updated its import alert measures, which entail automatic detention for specific products. Among these measures, a company based in the Taiwan region of China has been subjected to automatic detention for its plant-based chicken products. The alert, labeled as 99-39, was issued on April 22, 2024, and is targeted at Da Cheng Vegetarian International Co., Ltd., located in Hsinchu, Taiwan.

The specific product affected by the automatic detention measures is the company's vegan chicken, known as "VEGAN CHICKEN GENG." The detention has been imposed due to labeling errors associated with this product.

Exporting companies are advised to adhere strictly to the required standards and regulations in food production and processing to ensure compliance and safety. By doing so, they can mitigate the risk of their exported products being detained.
