Evonik expands powder biomaterials
Recently, Evonik announced the expansion of the production capacity of RESOMER powder biomaterials at its production base in Darmstadt, Germany. By using advanced solvent-free micronization technology, Evonik can produce customized powders with different particle sizes and material properties. With the increase in production capacity, Evonik also plans to expand its standard RESOMER powder product portfolio for medical devices to provide more customized material solutions for precision implants or medical aesthetic applications.
According to reports, RESOMER powder is suitable for implantable medical devices and strictly follows ISO 13485 and GMP compliance standards. The new micronization platform combines Evonik's expertise and deep experience in polymer design and processing technology as well as in a variety of applications.
Andreas Karau, global head of medical device solutions for Evonik's Healthcare business line, said:"With micronization technology, we can meet customer needs and provide them with the required grade of powder, thereby support customers to use innovative biomaterials to develop more applications in medical beauty and other medical fields."
