Biesterfeld acquires South African composite technology supplier Aerontec

Continuing its geographical expansion, Hamburg-based German distributor Biesterfeld has acquired Aerontec, a South African supplier and distributor of advanced composite materials and related technologies.

Founded in 2002, Biesterfeld said Aerontec has grown to become South Africa’s leading distributor of advanced composite materials, offering a wide range of materials, particularly for use in the marine, transportation, consumer goods and aerospace industries. The company has warehousing and distribution facilities in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Jeffreys Bay and Durban.

Dirk J. Biesterfeld, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Biesterfeld, said: "Biesterfeld is very interested in the Sub-Saharan region.
