Evonik’s new TEGO® Guard 9000 for exterior and facade paints wins Ringier Technology Innovation Award
TEGO® Guard 9000, a new exterior paint technology, has won the Ringier Technology Innovation Award for coatings for its unique fast-setting properties. The award has been given since 2006 and is a prestigious award for innovation in the coatings industry.
The jury highly praised the new technology from Evonik, which improves the stability of coating components immediately after the application of exterior paints, providing almost immediate protection against weathering.
The fast-setting properties of TEGO® Guard 9000 are achieved through electrostatic interactions between cationic organic polymers and anionic coating components in the coating formulation. This provides high rain protection within minutes of application, reduces the moisture content of substrates and surfaces, and inhibits the growth of moss and mold. TEGO® Guard 9000 can be incorporated into coating formulations without affecting storage stability and can be used in a variety of latex systems, different PVCs and color formulations.

TEGO® Guard 9000 has an extremely low VOC content, meeting eco-label requirements, making it suitable for use in sustainable waterborne coating formulations that meet eco-label requirements. Protecting buildings from environmental pollution is a universal requirement for exterior coatings, and TEGO® Guard 9000 meets this need with its advanced technology.
