OQ Chemicals' Texas site receives ISCC+ certification
OQ Chemicals' Bay City, Texas site has received the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) Plus. The certification is a major milestone for the company. The company's European sites in Monheim, Marl, Oberhausen and Amsterdam are already certified and can supply the corresponding products.
OQ Chemicals' Bay City site meets global market needs and specializes in the production of oxygenated chemicals such as aldehydes, alcohols, carboxylic acids and acetates. The site's recent investments in capacity additions and efficiency projects further enhance operational capabilities and ensure increased security of supply for customers.
Dr. Claudia Fischer, Global Business Development Director at OQ Chemicals, said: “With OxBalance, we offer a wider range of products that reduce environmental impact by utilizing bio-based and renewable raw materials. Going forward, our goal is to expand our sustainable offering. By leveraging our expertise and experience gained with ISCC Plus certification in our production facilities around the world, we support our customers in achieving their sustainability goals. We are well positioned to meet the growing demand for sustainable chemical solutions.”
ISCC is a globally recognized system focused on mass balance certification, in line with the circular economy and the European Commission’s Renewable Energy Directive (RED). ISCC Plus certification strengthens OQ Chemicals’ ability to offer its customers the OxBalance product line. It is a sustainable alternative to its fossil-based product portfolio with the same quality and performance.
